Software and equipment that I use in case anyone asks.

People are often shocked when they see my desktop setup. Split keyboard?! VERTICAL MOUSE WHAT?! It's true, and weird. Check out the list below!!

Workstation

  • CPU -- AMD Ryzen 7 9700 X

This has been the first PC that I've ever used that is an AMD Processor. So far, it works like a charm!!

  • Motherboard -- B650 GAMING X AX v2

While the computer I built looks like I did it for gaming, it was a sweet sweet bundle from Microcenter.com. I am not a sponsor, but Microcenter has been amazing for all computer purchasing needs.

  • RAM -- 24gb x 2 Cosairs?

48gb of RAM? NOTHING CAN STOP ME!!

  • Kinesis Freestyle2 Blue Keyboard

I once worked with a person who swore by the Kinesis Keyboard. While he preferred the wired ones, I like the idea of being able to switch machines via bluetooth easy. I like this keyboard so much, I've repurchased it twice!

  • Logitech MX Vertical

Vertical mouses are weird, I know. It has been awesome using this one though! This was also a suggestion by a few colleagues, one who has Arthritis. The Kinesis and the vertical mouse is extremely ergonomic!

  • Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic Microphone

I wish I can remember where I heard that one should choose a Dynamic microphone over a Condenser, but I haven't had an issue with this microphone since I purchased it. I've been using it since 2020, and it has been wonderful!

  • Logitech C920s Pro HD Webcam

Many years ago, I thought I'd be a Twitch streamer for games. That could not be further from the truth! Now, I use it for work. While a MacBook Pro camera was LEAGUES better than this webcam, being on a desktop kinda forces me to use this webcam.

Development tools

  • Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

I was _too cheap_ to want to purchase a Windows license, so I went the Ubuntu route! It's been *YEARS* since I used Ubuntu. It's come a long way, but I got a lot of learning to do!!

  • IntelliJ Idea Ultimate!

I've tried many editors, but lately -- I've been on a Jetbrains kick. I had (and still trying) to pick up Golang, and I can't imagine coding up Go code with nothing other than Goland!
