Gotchas when building a PC
So, here I am, building a PC! I haven't had to build a pc since 2011! That was when Skyrim dropped, and I was convinced that I would want to build games on my machine. Who was I fooling?? I just wanted to PLAY GAEMS!
Given that I used the opportunity to open the business and do something with it, now I get the opportunity to ACTUALLY BUILD SOFTWARE USING A COMPUTER I BUILT! w00t! It only took a decade and change to getter dun!!!!
It was great. I felt really good building a PC. There's just ooooone hickup that got me.
THE COMPUTER WOULDN'T TURN ON!
What was it?! What did I do?!?!?!
- Did I not put enough thermal paste on the processor?
- Did I get the wrong RAM?
- Did I not push the graphics card in enough?
- NVIE, wtf is this?! Did I install it correctly?!?!!
I was totally lost, and unsure what to do. Luckily, after a few hours looking through the internet, I found a few reddit threads that saved my ass from going to Microcenter and asking to replace everything!

Luckly, I had to update the BIOS for the motherboard. There's a small button on the back of the machine, and a specific usb port for uploading the BIOS update. I felt so old, I don't think I've had to update a machine's BIOS off the purchase. I guess that's new tech for ya.
